Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
EMK Labs ("we", "us", "our") is a digital creative studio based in Tegeta Kibaoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, operated by Elisha Mujuni Medard (Erlyin MK). We provide website and app design, AI video advertising, WhatsApp automation, company branding, graphic design, and social media management.
We respect your privacy. This policy explains clearly what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it. By using our website or services you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please do not share your personal information with us.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in only two ways: what you give us directly, and what naturally arises from the work we do for you.
- Contact information: your name, business name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email address and business location — when you message us or fill in any form.
- Project information: details about your business, your goals, budget, logos, photos, videos, documents, social media accounts and any other content you give us so we can do your work.
- Your customers' information: if you give us access to WhatsApp Business, Instagram or other systems, we may see the names, numbers and messages of your customers. That information belongs to you; we handle it on your behalf only.
- Payment information: payer name, amount, date and payment method (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, bank). We do not store card numbers or passwords for any payment system.
- Technical information: this website is a simple site and does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels or analytics tools that follow you. If we add tools such as Google Analytics in future, we will update this policy.
3. How we use your information
We use your information for these purposes only:
- To communicate with you about your enquiries, proposals, pricing and the progress of your project.
- To plan, produce and deliver the work you ordered — websites, videos, logos, posts or automation systems.
- To issue invoices, receive payments and keep financial records as required by law.
- To provide support after delivery.
- To tell you about new EMK Labs services or offers — only if you have agreed, and you can opt out at any time by replying "stop".
We do not use your information for third-party advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not use it for any purpose you have not agreed to.
4. Client work and content
Photos, videos, logos, text, passwords and documents you give us remain your property. We use them only for your project. The work we create for you (websites, videos, logos, designs) becomes your property once payment is complete.
We may ask to show your work in our portfolio, on our website or on Instagram — but only with your explicit permission (in writing or by WhatsApp message). You can withdraw that permission at any time and we will remove the work within 7 days.
If you give us access to your accounts (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp Business, hosting, domain), we recommend using temporary passwords or "collaborator" access instead of your main password. When the work is finished we will ask you to change the password or remove our access.
5. WhatsApp automation and AI systems
When we build a WhatsApp automation or AI assistant for you, that system processes your customers' messages. Those messages pass through third-party platforms (such as the Meta / WhatsApp Business API, n8n, iZap, or AI providers) which have their own privacy policies. We choose providers with acceptable security standards, but we cannot directly control their policies.
We do not read your customers' messages out of curiosity. We open them only when solving a technical problem you have reported to us, or with your explicit consent.
6. Sharing information with others
We do not share your personal information with any person or company, except in these situations:
- Technical service providers: hosting and domain companies, AI tools, Meta (Facebook / Instagram / WhatsApp), Google and automation tools — only to the extent needed to carry out your work.
- Legal requirements: where the laws of Tanzania or a lawful court order require us to.
- Your consent: where you ask us to or explicitly allow it.
7. Security
We take reasonable, standard steps to protect your information: strong passwords and two-factor authentication on our accounts, password-locked devices, and never sharing client information in public groups or networks. However, no online system is completely secure; if we discover any breach involving your information we will inform you as quickly as possible.
8. How long we keep information
We keep contact and project information for the duration of the work and up to two years after delivery, so we can help you if you return. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires. Passwords and access to your accounts are deleted as soon as the work is complete. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Know what information we hold about you, and receive a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your information (except what the law requires us to keep).
- Withdraw permission to show your work in our portfolio.
- Opt out of any marketing messages from us.

10. Children
Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we discover we have received such information, we will delete it.
11. Links to other websites
Our website contains links to WhatsApp, Instagram and our clients' websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies which we do not control. We encourage you to read them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the website or communicated directly to clients we are working with.
